About Product
AC14 Cold mix is an innovative asphalt cold mix, or cold mix premix product, the first of its kind in Malaysia. It utilizes the original AC14 design mix, following the JKRSPJ/2008-S4 specifications. The product has been modified in accordance with REAM – GL 17/2022 (Guidelines on Cold Mix Standard for Permanent Pothole Patching) for the development of pothole patching materials.
The initiative behind this innovation responds to the Ministry of Works’ call to encourage innovation and creativity in finding effective and reliable alternative materials in the production of cold mix, aligned with the commitment to ‘zero pothole’ by both concessionaires and the Public Works Department. This aims to significantly reduce repetitive patching work.
Storage Handling
The AC14 Cold mix product is packaged in a 25kg gross weight for 1 bucket with a capacity of 18 liters, which has an airtight lid and must be stored in a roofed place, shielded from direct sunlight.
The recommended storage period is 3 months to ensure the product quality is not compromised.
Applying
The AC14 Cold mix product can be applied directly without the use of a tack coat if the pothole still has a binder course, and it should be compacted using a compaction tool.
The use of a tack coat is necessary when the pothole extends to the base layer, such as roadbase or crusher run, to ensure proper adhesion and bond between the new material and the existing surface.

- Faster curing time at site, typically around 13-30 minutes after compaction.
